Snooker & Billiards NSW is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural 'Empower Snooker Invitational', an exciting new event aimed at encouraging female participation and elevating the profile of Women's Snooker in NSW. This new tournament, open solely to female players in NSW, will take place at the fantastic Newcastle City Snooker Club on June 29-30, 2024.

The 'Empower Snooker Invitational' is designed to be inclusive, welcoming female players of all abilities – and where the focus is on enjoyment over fierce competition. The handicap format ensures equal opportunities for all participants, from newcomers to more experienced players, making it the ideal entry-level event for those wanting to make a start in competition snooker, in a more relaxed & social setting.

The tournament is proudly sponsored and hosted by the Newcastle City Snooker Club, along with esteemed co-sponsors Rippit Golf, The Snooker Shop, and MLEI Consulting Engineers. Their support shows a shared commitment to advancing women's participation and achievements in snooker.

Over the course of the weekend, the 'Empower Snooker Invitational' will bring together a vibrant mix of snooker enthusiasts, creating a friendly yet competitive atmosphere. Players from diverse skill levels can showcase their talent, further raising the visibility of women's snooker in NSW.

The event will also incorporate a fundraising component, with a raffle raising funds for women in need, along with a clothing drive where the snooker community can donate women’s work wear. All proceeds will go to Dress For Success NSW. More details to follow soon.
