2014 NSW 6 Red Snooker Championship

This year’s Championships were held at Hornsby RSL Club on the 30/31 Aug, the club has fantastic facilities and one of the best Snooker Rooms in Sydney.

A field of 20 players assembled on Saturday morning for a best of 5 round robin play, the group format is well received from the players as it gives value for money.

There were 4 groups of 5; the top 2 qualify for the Quarter Finals on Sunday. Best of 9 played through to the final with some very entertaining snooker on offer throughout the weekend.

Hassan Kerdi defeated Joe Minici 5-3 for his 2nd 6 Red State Title, Hassan was solid all weekend and never seemed to be really pushed. Congratulations to Hassan and Joe for making the final. Joe nearly forced a decider but an uncharacteristic error when 1 shot away from 4 frames each, left the door open for Hassan and he needed no second invitation and made a nice 29 clearance starting with a free ball to finish a 2 visit frame & match in style.
