Tribute to Bill Hart
/Tribute Speech : Bill Hart
West Chapel, Pinegrove Memorial Park Cemetery & Crematorium, Minchinbury
Friday 20th January 2012
Reading by Gary Knight (Secretary BSA NSW)
Some general comments made as to Bill’s character and passion for regularly acting in capacity as Tournament Director at official events for many, many years. Special mention made about how regular players will no doubt miss his presence in the room and the familiar question of… “what’s your name, again?”
Then a reading of these formal words on behalf of BSA NSW members and committee, both past and present:-
Billiards and Snooker were a major part of Bill Hart’s life, a passion he readily shared with countless others over many, many years - demonstrating a rare commitment and dedication in the process.
Bill was an extremely well known and highly regarded member of the billiards and snooker fraternity. His knowledge of the game, his long involvement as a qualified referee and his unstinting support in various administrative roles earned him the respect of his peers and all who came in contact with him.
BSA NSW was indeed fortunate to have had the staunch support of Bill Hart, whose active participation and contribution at Committee level over the past 30 years was invaluable. He will be sorely missed.
Bill may have now “put his cue in the rack” but his memory will live on through his cherished Life Membership of the BSA NSW (awarded 2000).
Farewell old friend, it was an honour and a pleasure to know you …”well played, sir!”
